Vitra Organic Chair
The Organic Chair was originally designed in 1940 by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen for a MoMA competition in New York. At the time, its curved, sculptural shape was way ahead of what could actually be produced — so it didn’t make it past the prototype stage. It wasn’t until a decade later that manufacturing finally caught up. Now made to the original design, the Organic Chair is compact, comfortable, and ideal for reading or relaxed sitting. The seat shell gently wraps around you, and the armrests feel natural without being bulky. It’s a quiet design, but the form has a lot of character once you spend time with it — perfect for a corner, study, or any spot that needs a well-designed chair that’s a bit off the beaten track.
